Non-commercial terms of service

By commissioning me you are automatically agreeing to these terms.
​These terms exist to inform everyone about my commission process
​and to protect both parties in the event of an unpleasant scenario.
Please be sure to read it over thoroughly before ordering!

First & Foremost...

  • When commissioning me, be sure to take my art style into consideration and browse through my gallery to see what I have drawn before and how I draw it. I will not emulate another artist's work.
  • If you have a specific idea in mind let me know up front, even if it's a vague idea, so I can be sure I can accept your commission.
  • Artistic freedom is welcome and encouraged!
  • Understand that I cannot read your mind. I can only work off of my interpretation of your idea based on the information you've provided me.
  • Please be concise in communications and keep information relevant to your visual idea! Keywords, bullet lists, mood boards, simple sketches, and/or simple descriptions are greatly encouraged to help convey your idea. For personalities or relevant backstory only a couple of sentences or a few keywords are necessary. I am more likely to miss important details in lengthy descriptions, so please be concise!
  • If you have any questions or need clarification on anything written here feel free to contact me at any time!

My rights

  • ​I reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason. I am not obligated to disclose the reason for declining it.
  • I may post your commission to my online art galleries such as but not limited to: my website, Twitter, deviantArt, etc.
  • I may showcase your commission in my personal portfolio.
  • I may stream your commission through Picarto or Twitch at my own discretion unless you have requested me not to in the case of the illustration being a surprise gift. The art will then be released on or after the pre-established date depending.
  • I do not take anonymous commissions and I will not agree to indefinitely withholding showcasing my work. NDA does not apply to non-commercial orders and is not included in these terms.
  • If during the commission process something happens resulting in the image left unfinished (such as a cancellation or unused sketches), I reserve the right to re-purpose the image or sell it as a "Your Character Here" to complete it for another customer, with any discernible features edited, at my discretion.

What I am Comfortable Drawing

I will draw...

Any animal and select insects
Anthropomorphic characters
Mythical creatures and monsters
Characters from franchises
Fan characters based on franchises
Simple weapons and accessories
Clothing (with provided references)
Soft gore, candy gore, blood

I will not draw...

​Humans (not enough exp)
Anything sexually explicit or fetishy
Excessive violence or gore
Extreme detail that exceeds my skill
Hateful or demeaning content
Pregnancy, infantilism, or diapers
Grotesque muscles or obesity

Timeframe & Communication

  • Please be kind and courteous and remember to treat others how you'd like to be treated yourself!
  • If you need to contact me, please email me at [email protected] or DM me on Twitter. Don't be shy to ask for a status update, about your place in the queue, or if you have any other questions or concerns at any time. I don't bite!
  • Current turnaround for most commissions is eight weeks. Larger projects may incur a longer completion time. It is important to note that I may not always be able to meet this guideline due to external life factors. Please do not commission me without a deadline if you are not willing to wait. Every order is guaranteed to be fulfilled.
  • I will announce any delays on Twitter, in a journal (dA), in a status update (dA), and/or on Trello. If there may be delays that would affect a preexisting deadline or a completion estimate I will contact all clients personally to inform them. Again, please don't hesitate contact me if you have any questions or concerns. I am only one person and individual correspondence can sometimes take as much time as the art itself!
  • Deadlines must be established during our initial discussion and agreement. They may not be added on at a later time unless under special circumstances or failure to meet a previous estimate.
  • I will not accept commissions that require a deadline without at least four weeks notice to be fair to others already in the queue.
  • If you'd like an update on the status of your commission check your Trello card, email me, or DM me at any time! Please do not ask in public spaces such as replying to tweets, commenting on journals, or asking in stream chat or whispers. These are not appropriate means of business correspondence and you will be redirected to my email or DMs.
  • Be sure to respond to progress messages as soon as possible and double check your email's spam folder! If I don't receive a response within two days, your commission will bumped down in the queue to allow me to move to other clients.

Providing References

  • Clear and accurate full body visual references are required. I do not accept 3D model screenshots, fursuit photos, or nsfw references and the request will be ignored if sent. I only accept 3D model references that are static turnarounds, toon shaded, and have no environmental lighting to ensure accurate color when translated to 2D work.
  • If your character does not have a full reference sheet, please include multiple images to show the entirety of the character. (Yes, even if you're commissioning a headshot as I'll sometimes include their tail, etc!)
  • Written descriptions are welcome so long as they are clear and concise. Keywords, bullet lists, mood boards, simple sketches, and/or simple descriptions are greatly encouraged to help convey your idea. For personalities or relevant backstory, only a couple of sentences or a few keywords are necessary. I am more likely to miss important details and I may turn down lengthy written descriptions entirely to save myself time in correspondence.
  • If you would like someone else's character to be included in the commission, please provide the username(s) of the person or people involved. This is for the safety and protection of all relevant parties, including myself. No special refunds will be given if something happens as a result of the image.

Payments & Refunds

  • I only work with clients 18 years old or older. If you are under 18, the commission order must be made by a parent or guardian and all correspondence, payment, and approval must be made through them. I do not work directly with minors.
  • I only accept payment via PayPal invoice in USD. Please refrain from sending payment ahead of time through PayPal or Ko-fi. In such case, I will promptly refund the full amount then invoice you with the quoted amount instead. Tips are welcome and enabled on all invoices! Additional tips are also accepted through Ko-fi.
  • Full payment is due up front. After reaching an agreement, the proposed price will not change. Additional payments may be added for extended revisions. (See 'Previews & Revisions')
  • Payment plans are only available for commissions $150 or more and will be required to be paid off within 2-6 weeks depending on the quoted amount. A non-refundable deposit of a determined percentage based on the total commision cost is required up front to reserve your place in the queue and guarantee your slot. Work will not be started until payment has been made in full. If you decide to cancel before paying off the full amount, any additional payments excluding the initial deposit will be refunded.
  • I will send an invoice to you via PayPal with the email address you provide me. If another person is paying for you, please disclose their username and/or full legal name and relation to you. This is for the safety and protection of all relevant parties, including myself.
  • Payment must be made within 24 hours after reserving your commission or it will be canceled. If payment plans or extensions are needed please let me know up front or as soon as possible. If your commission has been canceled before any payment has been made, you are then always welcome to commission me at a later date!
  • If you wish to cancel your commission after work has begun, you will be charged for the amount of work already completed and refunded for the remaining unfinished portion.
  • If I decide to refund you at any point, the decision is 100% final and I will not discuss it further. Any attempt to send the money back to me will result in it being considered a donation and I will not refund it again.

Previews & Revisions

  •  I will provide sketch and concept previews for all colored works.
  • I will not provide previews for uncolored works,  such as monochrome sketches, so be sure to provide accurate information when ordering!
  • Please mention any and all edits in one message as frequent changes will incur additional fees. Additional fees are based on the nature of the request, frequency of requests, and capped after an undisclosed amount.
  • One preview will be given for small colored works such as icons, chibis, and flat colored sketches after sketching is complete.
  • One major edit is included for small colored works during the sketch stage with one to two minor edits (depending on the nature of the edits) included after completion.
  • For larger commissions such as full illustrations, ​one major revision is included at the sketch stage and two minor revisions are included anytime afterwards, with an additional minor edit or two (depending on the nature of the edits) after completion.
  • Any minor edits made after completion must be mentioned within 24 hours of receiving and reviewing final work. After 24 hours have passed, I will consider the image complete and the client satisfied and will no longer edit the image. This is to allow me to continue work for my other clients without creating extra delays.
  • Any larger or more frequent edits outside of those outlined above may incur additional fees.
  • If anything needs to be fixed that was clearly shown on the character reference or written in the description that I overlooked, it will always be corrected for free as a courtesy.
  • I will not completely rework an image after intermittent and final approval(s) at any stage. For example, if a sketch was approved to move on to color and at the color approval stage it's requested that the base sketch to be drastically changed, it will be declined. If the client then chooses to request a refund, please refer to the 'Payments & Refunds' section above.

the usual Legalities

  • All copyrights pertaining to the artwork itself remains with me.
  • Any character(s) included in the artwork are the intellectual property of the respected character owner(s).
  • When posting or sharing the artwork always credit me unless otherwise stated. You may not claim you created it.
  • The artwork may not be resold or reprinted commercially in any form. Prints include but are not limited to: artwork prints, book covers, game books, CD covers. In other words, this is a personal piece of art not a commercial commission.

you are welcome to:

• Display it in your personal gallery
• Use it as a graphic on your personal online profiles or personal website
• Save it and use it as a wallpaper on your personal computer and devices
• Print it out for your room or office or as a gift
• Make minor alterations such as small color edits, adding text, resizing, and/or cropping

However, you may not:

​• Allow others to use it (unless their character included in the piece)
• Claim that anyone but the artist drew it
• Resell it in any form (unless the IP is sold, then the image rights are transferred to the new owner)
• Make major alterations such as coloring an uncolored sketch, large scale color edits, recreating or photo-manipulating the piece, etc.

Concluding a Commission

Upon completion you will be provided with a full resolution, digital, flattened file.
I will not send you a print of the image, but you're welcome to get it printed yourself!
